A Teak TV Console for Your Classy Living Room
4K televisions have come in and CRT televisions have become obsolete in many places, but teak continues to be a timeless preference for attractive, durable and high quality indoor furniture. A teak TV console in the living room to carry a sleek large screen of today's LCD, plasma screen and 4K TVs make for a classic, elegant and long-lasting piece of furniture.
Teak consoles are ideal for you if what you're looking for is a high quality console crafted with great care to last for several years, and with good care, even a lifetime. Good quality teak is known for its beautiful even grains and honey-colour, its glaze caused by the natural oils present in the original wood that also protects it from the weather and from most pests that infect other woods.
Buying a Teak TV Console
There are varieties of TV console designs made of teak. They may come in a variety of sizes, to cater to different sizes of TV screens. You can find consoles of lengths 120 cm, 150cm, 180cm and other sizes. Heights may also vary, with some consoles having niches and drawers to store other entertainment related items, or without drawers if what you want is a clean look. If you buy a console table without any storage space, you can always complement the table with a separate teak shelf or cabinet to keep knickknacks in.
When making a purchase of a teak TV console, there are a few other things to consider. Teak comes in a number of grades representing quality, and you get what you pay for. Grade A teak comes straight from the hard and dense heartwood, and is full of the natural oils that gives teak its long-lasting and glossy quality. You can expect to pay more for a TV console made of Grade A teak, than one made from Grade C teak.
Grade C teak TV consoles will be made from the sapwood of the tree, which is the part of the tree used to transport water. This wood doesn't contain much oil and is also softer than the heartwood. Grade B on the other hand is also from the heartwood, but from the semi-mature part of it, or from a younger tree. This gives it a lighter colour and more irregular grain, but it is still of reasonably good quality. When you're buying a TV console to sit at the prime position in the living room, you want to make sure that you're only getting the best teak wood and the longest-lasting. Sapwood doesn't have a shine, so if your TV console is made of it, it will have a matte finish that may not look as attractive as the type of TV console that is possible to make with Grade A heartwood.
A teak TV console can change the ambiance of your living room, turning it into a classic and elegant space with its traditional yet premium quality look that is so coveted in modern furniture. When buying teak furniture, make sure that you look at the guarantee details carefully.
